Craig Bell

Business Director

Craig Bell, USPTA Master Professional, PTR Professional and Master Racquet Technician for the USRSA, is currently the Director of Tennis at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas, Texas. Craig has been associated with tennis for over 40 years starting back in 1974 at Woodlake Racquet Club in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Craig has enjoyed a successful on-court playing career as he has won various high school, college and USTA events in singles and doubles play. His son Chris, whom he taught since he was able to walk, was a Texas section Super Champ and USTA nationally ranked junior tennis player. Both he and Chris have won various tournaments including the prestigious Cotton Bowl Tennis Tournament in the Father-Son division in 2007 and 2009. Craig has been selected to All-State, All-Conference and All-Region teams. In addition to his success on the court, Craig has the distinction of having his serve recorded at 131 mph at the Jansen Fast Serve Contest in the mid-1980’s.

Craig started his on-court teaching career in Ogden, Utah in the early 1980’s and has worked at some of the very finest tennis facilities in the United States. He enjoys teaching all levels of players – everyone from beginner to advanced levels and has worked with numerous state, regional and nationally ranked players.

Off the court, Craig has been involved in the tennis communities that he has lived in and been an active volunteer. He is a four-time President of the Dallas Professional Tennis Association and as a result of his presence in the Dallas tennis community, he was awarded in 2007 the Dallas Tennis Association’s “Pro Volunteer of the Year.” In 2010, Craig was once again honored for his years of service to the state of Texas as he was awarded the USPTA Texas Division “Professional of the Year.” Through Craig’s skills on and off the court, he has helped raise hundreds of thousands (quite possibly millions) of dollars for charity events whether playing as a pro-am participant, generously donating to charity events or organizing and running tournaments on behalf of charitable organizations. Currently, Craig is volunteering with the USPTA Texas Division as the Conference Chairperson, since 2009, and is also serving as 1st Vice-President, since 2013.

His greatest accomplishment is being married since August 1983 to his wife Cindy whom he met while playing collegiate tennis in Utah at Weber State University. Craig and Cindy currently have four children – three daughters and one son. In his spare time, Craig enjoys all sports and is a proud 4th generation member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation with his great, great grandfather serving as “Chief” of the Chickasaw nation in the 1830’s.

Craig really enjoys the “Great Game of Tennis” and is appreciative of all the benefits it has afforded him on and off the court.
